Amherst is at the Heart of Maple Community. The Community of Maple runs from Jane and Highway 400 on the west to Rutherford Road in the south, the Go Railway Barrier line on the east, and Teston Road on the north. Bounding highway 400 and having two GO stations, Maple offers its residents convenient transportation to transit to downtown Toronto. Townhouses, semi-detached houses, and condo apartments are typical throughout the Community. In past 3 months, 18 Town homes were sold at average of $908.91K. The descendants of early European immigrants were spread in several neighbourhoods within the Community. Further south of Jane Street is Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, where residents can take a subway to downtown Toronto at Vaughan Subway station. At the junction of Jane Street and Major Mackenzie Drive, Mackenzie Glen Square is a large shopping plaza anchored by several well-respected tenants, including Longo, McDonald and Scotia Bank.
