Atkinson is at South West Corner of Uplands Community. The Community of Uplands runs from Yonge Street in the east to Highway 7 in the North, Bathurst Street in the west, and Centre Stree in the South. Upland is on the Southeast side of Vaughan, bordering Markham and Richmond Hill. Homeownership in this part of Vaughan is very high, with around 95% of owners occupying their properties. Italian, Persian, Korean, and Filipino make up most of the remaining residents. Furthermore, Highway 7 on the north has a speed limit of 80Km and fewer traffic lights between Keele St and Bayview Ave. Uplands Golf & Ski Club and Thornhill Golf Club occupy large green spaces in the Community. Residents can find Food Basics supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, and several service stores here. Uplands is an upscale community with many executive real estates, large green spaces, convenient public transit, and abundant shopping within the Community or nearby.
