Finch Ave is at South East Corner of Newtonbrook East Community. The community of Newtonbrook East runs from Yonge Street Road on the West to Finch Avenue in the south, Bayview Avenue on the East, and Steeles Avenue in the north. Newtonbrook East is a highly diversified community; the mother tone of around 72% of residents is not in English. In recent years, many elder houses have been gradually transformed into custom-built modern homes. A substantial number of Chinese immigrants live in Newtonbrook east, followed by Persian, Korean, Filipino and Russian. Highway 401 has two entries at both Yonge Street and Bayview Avenue. The Willowdale off-leash dog park allows dog owners to unleash their dogs in a controlled environment. There are abundant shops in and near Newtonbrook East. Newtonbrook East is a highly diversified community with convenient public transit and plenty of shopping and restaurants.
