It is easy to copy, but hard to originate.
The past several months' extensive lockdown during the COV-19 pandemic in Toronto forced many small companies out of business. The significant shift in consumer behavior challenges many owners to ponder more innovative ideas to survive. Yet, the innovation comes at a cost, and many changes are not guaranteed return in investment. As a result, many people copy others' ideas in the hopes of achieving a similar outcome. It is easy to copy, but hard to originate.
Innovation is always a challenge for small businesses, and I have gotten to experience it firsthand. About ten years ago, I worked with my partner from Silicon Valley to build an innovative app for small businesses to promote their products to consumers faster. The project soon became underfunded because of the locals' reluctance to adapt to new technologies, and soon, we were forced to switch to other business priorities. As of now, I am still thinking about how technology can help improve consumer experiences. If you're interested, you can take a look at my other post.
After I joined the real estate industry several years ago, I thought about developing an application to provide my clients with an additional advantage. During this pandemic, I had the luxury of sitting down and building up my website. Thanks to the extensive resources of technologies today, information has become more accessible than in the past. After months of refresh and studies of AI, big data, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon AWS, python, Java, etc. I was able to build up my website from scratch. The site currently focuses on the market area in Toronto, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan. The design is very user friendly; for example, if you are interested in the city of Vaughan latest real estate information, you can find a simple chart and table by checking the link here . If you want to see other market information, click the "Market" button to select desirable cities.

Toronto is now officially entering phase 3 of the reopening. I hope everyone is safe and our economy will be back on track soon.
